Beautifully filigreed this ring contains two Old European cut diamonds weighing an AVERAGE of 0.31 carats each. An estimated AVERAGE quality analysis is as follows: Clarity: SI1, Color: G (provisional). On either side of the two center diamonds is one Old European cut diamond weighing approximately 0.075 carats each and are of good quality. Accenting the ring are 12 square cut blue sapphires (probably synthetic–stones were being synthesized as early and the mid 1800’s. When it came to these accent stones, be they sapphire, ruby or emerald they usually used synthetics because to cut the stones in the more decorative shapes there was a lot of breakage so they did not want to use the natural stone…therefore, the synthetics! Also, please understand that a SYNTHETIC stone does not mean glass… a synthetic stone has the same physical, chemical and optical properties as the natural, the only difference is they were made in a laboratory. However beware, as many people will confuse synthetic with simulant! Simulants DO NOT have the same physical, chemical and optical properties of the natural stone and are generally much less expensive–They are usually glass or some other imitation!) Ring Size: 7-1/2 can be sized.
All rings come with one free sizing…To size the ring down it is completely free…to size the ring up we will pay for the first size, and you will pay the balance. The good news though, is that we will only charge you what our jeweler charges us…another words it will be much less expensive.
Dorothy Gallun founded Dorothy Gallun Jewelry in Wisconsin in 1950. Patty Gallun Hansen, is Dorothy’s daughter and is now in continuing the business her mother loved so much. Patty graduated and earned her Graduate Gemologist degree in residency at the Gemological Institute of America in California. As a graduate gemologist, Patty and her gold smith inspect all jewelry before listing it for sale. The quality of stones and method of construction are all determined. Once an item is sold, and before we send it out, our goldsmith checks the item to make sure prongs are tight and the item is cleaned and polished.

If you like antique, vintage and/or estate jewelry you have come to the right place! Rings, pins, bracelets, earrings, watch chains, pendants and necklaces; we have them here. We work hard to provide you quality jewelry at realistic and reasonable prices. As we like to say: Not your typical jewelry store; Not your typical jewelry! Dorothy Gallun Fine Jewelry was founded in 1950 by my mom Dorothy Gallun. When people ask me (Patty) how long I have been in business with my mom I tell them basically from the day I was born. When I was a baby, mom would put me in a basket, put me under one of the jewelry counters and gave me a bottle when I cried...frankly, I can't think of a better way to grow up; warm cozy basket, milk, mom and being surrounded by beautiful jewelry!! After I graduated from Ripon College in Ripon, WI mom sent me to the Gemological Institute of America in California where I earned my Graduate Gemologist diploma. It was hard, I mean studying on the beach with all that sand getting into your books, the cool ocean breezes flipping the pages of those books and not to mention the beautiful scenery (the tan buff bodies of beach boys!)....well somehow I managed! Sadly mom just passed away at 98 years old, but to the end she came to the store with me every day. She was the best mom, business partner, and best friend you could ever ask for. In short we were soul mates! Love you mom…miss you every day, but somehow I know that some where beyond the rainbow you are still the boss! Love you!!!
