Chinese Ginger Pork & Honey Stir-Fry – Chinese Style Recipe – Shop Local


Welcome to Xiao’s Kitchen. My name is Xiao Wei and my goal is to make your cooking simple and exciting. Ever since my Mother showed me how to cook at an early age, I have always had a strong passion for cooking. My family still live in Inner Mongolia, in the northern part of China, where I visit each year and learn new Chinese recipes.

Ingredients:
500g Pork Fillet (thinly sliced)
1 Green Pepper (cut to bite-size)
10g Ginger (finely chopped)
3 Spring Onions (cut to 2 inch lengths)
1 Tsp Cornflour
1 Tbsp Dark Soy Sauce
1 Tbsp Light Soy Sauce
2 Tbsp Shao Xing Rice Wine
1 Tbsp Malt Vinegar
2 Tbsp Clear Honey
Juice of 1 Lime
1 Tbsp Chinese Five Spice
1 Tsp Sesame Oil
3 Tbsp Peanut Oil (also called Groundnut oil)
Salt to Taste

Method:
1. Place the pork in a mixing bowl
2. Add the cornflour, ginger, dark soy sauce, rice wine, honey, Five spice and sesame oil. Mix well and ensure even coating, leave to marinate for an hour
3. Heat the peanut oil in a wok over high heat
4. Place the pork in the wok and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes
5. Add the vinegar, light soy sauce and 2 Tbsp of water, cook for a further 2 minutes
6. Add the green pepper and spring onions, stir-fry for another minute
7. Add the lime juice and stir, turn off the heat
8. Transfer onto a dish and serve with rice
